Convery Prenty Shields Architects has evolved through strategic growth, talented leadership and a continued commitment to delivering an exceptional service.
Established by Steve Convery in 2008 during the height of the financial crisis, the practice entered a new phase with Stuart Prenty joining in 2014, culminating in the formation of Convery Prenty Architects. The practice continued to grow and strengthen its reputation, successfully merging with Young & Gault Architects in 2020 and welcoming Gillian Shields as Director, to evolve into Convery Prenty Shields Architects.
As the practice expanded, so too did our leadership team. In 2024, Kirsty Timoney was promoted to Director in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the practice. With over 13 years’ experience, she has led innovative projects across the commercial, community, residential, healthcare, hotel and leisure sectors, with a particular focus on sustainable urban regeneration.
Following Stuart’s retirement, Lindsay Benson was promoted to Director in Summer 2026, recognising the leadership, expertise and commitment she has brought to the practice. With over 25 years’ architectural experience, she has delivered projects across multiple sectors, with a specialist knowledge of inclusive design and care environments.
Over the past 18 years, CPSA have built an efficient and highly skilled team, whose breadth of experience, technical excellence and commitment to client service have been central to our continued success.
We are proud that almost all of our work is secured through repeat commissions and personal referrals. The trust and confidence our clients place in us has enabled the practice to achieve consistent year-on-year growth while maintaining the personal service, attention to detail and design quality that have always defined who we are.

Project Delivery
Every project is led by Steve Convery, Gillian Shields, Kirsty Timoney or Lindsay Benson throughout (you don’t get rid of us that easily). Our talented team of Architects, Senior Technicians, and Architectural Assistants are supported by our four Directors to bolster design, technical and management requirements. Every project has a dedicated point of contact and delivery team throughout the duration of the project.
