This 40 bed care home has been conceived as a cluster of small group living units of 10 beds with associated facilities creating an excellent home environment. Carefully designed to the University of Stirling dementia standards this building provides state of the art facilities and a sympathetic care environment for residents with high-dependency needs. The care home design takes advantage of the prominent setting with panoramic views over Stromness harbour. Our design approach adopts simple massing forms typical of Orkney, robustly detailed and nestled into the spectacular landscape setting.
