Ferry Village

Renfrew

Ferry Village is located adjacent to Renfrew on the south bank of the River Clyde. Historically the site has a ship building heritage, characterised by quayside walls, man-made basins, slipways, and derelict boatyards.

The primary ambition of this newbuild development was to create a sustainable community that integrates well with the urban fabric of Renfrew. A masterplan was developed to create a network of new streets and squares to respond to the unique waterfront location and the urban design concept is a modern interpretation of a traditional neighbourhood with an established sense of place.

The residential mix provides apartments and townhouses in buildings generally three to five storeys grouped around landscaped courtyards. All buildings are unique in their architectural design and the palette of materials has been controlled to ensure that a coherent architectural design solution is achieved.

The King’s Wharf building at Ferry Village was awarded ‘Best Apartment of the Year’, Scottish Homes Award 2010.
